Overview of the role:

Are you a serial healthtech entrepreneur or industry leader passionate about revolutionizing healthcare through AI? Disrupt.com is looking for a Founder in Residence focused on Healthcare & Longevity to co-create a high-impact, AI-native venture tackling global healthcare challenges. You’ll lead the charge in building a startup that leverages artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes and extend healthy lifespans. AI is already transforming all aspects of healthcare delivery – from automating workflows to achieving superhuman diagnostic accuracy – bringing us to the brink of a generational shift in how healthcare operates, enabling healthier and longer lives. As a Founder in Residence, you will have full ownership to shape and launch an ambitious healthtech venture from scratch, backed by Disrupt’s proven venture-building platform and resources. This is an opportunity to co-found a company with Disrupt as your first investor, using cutting-edge AI to solve deep problems in healthcare and longevity on a global scale. ????

What you will be expected to perform:

We seek best-in-class founder profiles who can dream big and execute relentlessly. The must-haves include:

  • ???? AI-First Builder Mindset – You have actively built or applied AI in products or operations or your personal life, not just followed the hype. You are passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence to create 10x solutions in healthcare.

  • ???? DTC/B2B Product Chops – You’ve shipped successful products (direct-to-consumer and/or B2B) with a deep focus on user experience and customer obsession. You know how to build products that users love, and you bring that user-centric design mentality.

  • ???? Deep Healthcare Expertise – You have domain knowledge in healthcare or longevity. Perhaps you’ve worked in digital health, biotech, medical devices, or healthcare consulting. You understand regulatory nuances (e.g. HIPAA, FDA, clinical trials), industry stakeholders, and the transformative potential of AI in this space.

  • ????️ Strong Tech Intuition – While you don’t need to code, you can confidently lead technical discussions, understand AI/ML concepts, and make informed product trade-offs with your engineering team. You’re comfortable guiding a technical team to implement your vision, and you quickly grasp new technologies.

  • ???? Growth Savvy – You know how to build go-to-market from scratch. Whether it’s healthcare enterprise sales or DTC growth hacking, you have strategies to acquire users and can hustle your way to early traction. You’re creative about growth channels and not afraid to get your hands dirty in marketing and biz dev.

  • ???? Strategic Clarity & Bias for Action – You can see the big picture and break it down into actionable steps. You move fast and efficiently, making smart decisions with imperfect information. “Analysis paralysis” isn’t in your vocabulary – you’d rather iterate and learn than wait for perfect conditions.

????‍????‍???? Proven Leadership – You’ve led teams and attracted talent before. People want to work with you because you inspire confidence and clarity. You have strong communication and influencing skills, able to rally stakeholders (from engineers to investors) around a shared vision.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in entrepreneurship, executive management, or early-stage startup leadership. Ideally, you have founded or co-founded a startup (or been in the first few employees) and gone through the zero-to-one journey.

  • A True Builder: A founder-at-heart – driven, resourceful, and relentlessly execution-focused. You enjoy the scrappy startup stage of wearing multiple hats and turning chaos into order. When resources are lacking, you get creative and find a way.

  • Track Record of Launching/Scaling: You have experience launching or scaling digital products, platforms, or marketplaces. (For example, perhaps you grew a healthtech app from idea to thousands of users, or you led a new product line within a healthcare company.) You understand what early traction looks like and how to achieve it.

  • Ambitious & Unconventional: You’re an ambitious maverick who thinks differently and challenges the status quo. You’re not afraid to pursue bold, unorthodox ideas if you believe in the opportunity. You have the confidence to go against the grain and the resilience to navigate uncertainty.

  • Domain Passion: Background in healthcare, medtech, biotech, or longevity research is a strong plus. You might be a clinician-turned-entrepreneur, a pharma innovator, or a health data guru – we love to see deep insight into the problems you’ll tackle.

  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a bonus, given healthcare is global).

  • Thrive in Ambiguity: You love the “zero to one” phase. Undefined paths and big unknowns don’t scare you – they energize you. You have the adaptability to pivot quickly when needed and the persistence to stay the course when others might give up.

  • Startup DNA: You know what it takes to build a company from nothing. Perhaps you’ve been a founder before or part of an early founding team. You’re familiar with lean startup methods, agile development, and wearing umpteen hats at once.

  • Exceptional Communication & Influence: You can distill a complex vision into a compelling narrative for customers, partners, and investors. You’re equally comfortable demoing a product to a client, negotiating a deal, or pitching on stage.

  • Analytical Problem-Solving: You excel at breaking down complex, multi-faceted problems (which healthcare has plenty of) into solvable chunks. You make data-informed decisions and can navigate both the strategic and tactical aspects of the business.

  • Lean & Agile Mindset: You believe in test-and-learn. You default to action – try, iterate, repeat. You adapt quickly based on feedback, and you favor practical experimentation over theoretical planning.

  • Roadmap & Execution Mastery: You can set a vision and also build the roadmap to achieve it. Strong project management skills – you prioritize, set milestones, and execute to deliver results on time.

  • Financial Acumen: You’re comfortable with a P&L and financial modeling. You can manage budgets, understand key financial drivers, and ensure the venture’s economics make sense.

  • Customer-First Thinking: Whether your end-users are patients, doctors, or insurers, you start with their pain points and work backwards to solutions. You ground your product decisions in user insight and are dedicated to improving the customer experience and outcomes.

Bonus Points if you:

  • Have been a serial founder or part of an early-stage founding team that achieved a notable scale or exit. Multiple startup experiences mean you’ve seen various scenarios – that learning is invaluable.

  • Have worked within large healthcare organizations or public health systems, or in corporate innovation teams in the health sector. Understanding how to navigate big industry players or regulators can help in this domain.

Have pitched and secured early-stage funding (Seed or Series A) from institutional investors. Your fundraising experience can give your venture a running start when it’s time to raise external capital.
